Asia Microfinance Forum 2014

The Banking With The Poor Network (BWTP) and The Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC), in partnership with the Citi Foundation as Lead Sponsor and the China Association of Microfinance (CAM) as Local Host, are pleased to announce that the Asia Microfinance Forum 2014 will be held in Shanghai, China, 4 – 8 August 2014.

The AMF is one of the leading events in the region for organisations and individuals interested in providing and promoting inclusive and sustainable financial services in Asia. This event attracts a wide range of stakeholders including central banks, heads of government, microfinance practitioners, advocates, educational institutions, mobile phone and telecommunications companies, donor agencies, international financial institutions, NGOs, domestic government agencies, commercial banks, community-based savings institutions, technology and software companies, and a range of other organisations from across Asia and outside the region.

Members of the BWTP Network have identified a range of priority challenges and opportunities for achieving greater financial inclusion in Asia. The AMF will provide a platform to seek solutions to these challenges and support organizations to better take advantage of opportunities by stimulating fresh thinking and building the capacity of stakeholders and institutions.

AMF delegates will have the opportunity to participate in several Plenary and Panel sessions to learn about new initiatives, discuss and debate ‘best practice’, exchange knowledge and build partnerships to increase progress towards achieving greater financial inclusion in the region. Alongside these sessions will be multiple intensive workshops offering delegates further opportunities to share experience, build capacity and network with other stakeholders. These workshops will be tailored to address specific priority topics and led by industry leaders.

Registration for the Asia Microfinance Forum will close on 25 July 2014.
