With the support of the Cordaid, ADA Luxembourg and SBV, Vietnam Microfinance Development Strategy Conference would be held in February 15, 2011 in Hanoi. The purpose of the Conference is to raise awareness and discuss important issues toVietnam microfinance development strategy plan to 2020. The Conference will be similar in format to that hosted by VMFWG with participants representing the principal stakeholder and interest groups in Vietnam, selected regional MFIs and International organizations.
Objectives:
The objectives of the Conference are to:
(1) Understand/Grasp the draft of Vietnam microfinance development strategy plan to 2020;
(2) Discuss and comment on the draft of Vietnam microfinance development strategy plan to 2020;
(3) Summary comments and opinions
(4) Submit comments and opinions to SBV.
Themes
The Central theme of the Conference discussed in the open forum is:
- The potential achievements and perspective of the microfinance industry in Vietnam to 2020.
With following five related themes addressed in the group discussion workshops, each to be discussed with reference to the central theme of focusing on the draft of Vietnam microfinance development strategy plan to 2020:
- Financial sustainability.
- Poverty targeting and impact monitoring.
- Sourcing funding to extend outreach.
- Product diversification.
- Operating environments and self-regulation.
