The MDM program is an 11-month intensive, innovative, practitioner-oriented program with graduates that come from 40 countries within and beyond Asia. The MDM is designed to prepare development professionals for managing and leading public, civil society, cooperatives and private non-profit organizations in the context of economic and political transition. Its cultural diversity makes learning within the MDM program a unique academic experience unlike any other.
The MDM program consists of 3 Modules. Each Modules is composed of 12 weeks. The last 2 weeks of Module 1 is dedicated for the Rapid Area Assessment wherein each learning team is decides to go to their chosen sector or area in the Philippine to study. Afterwhich, they come back to Manila to do their analysis, recommendation and report to the faculty of CDM. The last 2 weeks of Module 2 is dedicated to the International Field Review wherein our students are sent out to another country to do a program evaluation of a partner organization such as ADB and other multilateral agency (This year, 2013 our students are going to Cambodia. In 2012, they went to Vietnam and In 2011, they went to Indonesia). Lastly, the 2 weeks at the end of Module 3 is focused on polishing the Management Research Report (equivalent to thesis) to defend it to a panel of advisers and stakeholder.
To be considered for any scholarships available at the AIM Center for Development Management (CDM), applicants should first be accepted to the MDM program. There are no separate applications for scholarships available within CDM, but we may require you to submit additional documents as may be required by the funding agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
– A Bachelor’s Degree from a nationally-recognized university
– Minimum age: 30 years as of January1 of the year of study
– Six years full-time work experience, three years at managerial or supervisory level
– Proficiency in oral and written English (IELTS Band 6 recommended for applicants from non-English speaking countries)
